There are many forms of communicating your message products or services across the net, one of the most popular ways is Article writing, there is also the now established Blogging medium.

Older but still tried and tested ways include creating special offers or even offering something for free.

Where does all of this get you if you have not optimised your pages first? a simple answer would be nowhere, except for the drip drip of occasional visitors.

There are no hard and fast ways to get noticed on the net, unless you include Pay Per Click Advertising, but what if you are starting out on a budget of £0.00? All you have done is purchased your Domain Name and hosting, you have sweated for weeks about coding your site site to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye, or you were lucky enough to have laid your hands on a WYSIWYG editor and you have spliced it all together within a couple of days.

So you have the basics, domain, hosting and site designed, so how do you go about optimising the content you have mulled over for typos and the like?

Quite simply optimisation has to start with the coding of your site from the top to bottom, but be very careful not to overdo it, keep a good keyword density about you page and your whole websites theme and you will not go far wrong.

Next you need to get your virtual face noticed, start with submiting your URL to the main 3 engines as well as DMOZ and the Yahoo Directory.

Find relevant link pertners that have similar themes to your own, but do not concentrate to heavily on this practice as it only makes up a small percentage of your ranking factor.

Submit to a few high ranking PR directories within the relevant categories.

Submit articles to websites such as GoArticles and Website By Design.

Join forums that discuss similar content to the ones you are promoting and use the URL to the site you are promoting within your signature, become a regular contributor to that forum and give as well as receive the advice you and your community share.

One of the most popular phrases when it comes to websites is “stickability”, what do you offer your visitors to make them keep coming back?
