This must be said: fumbling around for a misplaced CD while driving has caused a few accidents. CD and mp3 changers make it easier for you to stay focused on driving (no distraction of changing discs) without losing a moment of music. Mp3 decoding: If you want to play those music files you downloaded from the internet, you’ll need this feature. However, please, note that not all music files downloaded from the internet are mp3 files.

Id-3 tags: A changer’s ability to read ID-3 tags means that it will give you track details like artiste’s name, track title, track duration, and any other related information. This is especially useful if you’re playing mp3 files as a single disc can hold up to ten hours worth of songs.

Zero-bit detector mute circuit: You’ll like this if you like complete silence inbetween tracks. This feature shuts down the changer’s output once there is no signal.

Wireless Remote: This feature may or may not be so important depending on the presence of other features in your audio setup. This is very useful if you do not have steering wheel controls or if they are not functional. You’ll certainly find it a lot easier and safer to control your changer than otherwise.

This is a guide. You know what’s best for you. Choose what you may, but be sure of this: A CD/mp3 changer will certainly enhance your music experience on the road. A car cd/mp3 changer is certainly another audio level — The way to go.

Tips

* Don’t put the battery on for at least 3 days or longer if your digital screen is foggy.
* Place a piece of satin finish scotch tape over your water damage sticker before you drop your cell phone in the water to prevent the water damage sticker from voiding your warranty. This sticker can usually be found under your battery. It’s a small round white sticker, possibly with dots on it. If this sticker gets wet it changes color and your phone is marked for water damage.
* Remove the tape if you ever have to return your phone for repairs or warranty. (See the note in the ‘Warnings’ section about doing this!)
* The best way to dry out your phone is to place it in front of an air conditioner or air conditioning vent. Cold air won’t damage your phone (hot air can warp or in extreme cases even melt plastic), and air from an air conditioner is dry, and so will evaporate water faster than you might think (which is why a car air conditioner will de-mist the windshield so effectively, even if the engine hasn’t warmed up yet). Warm air from a reverse-cycle air conditioner works even better, of course. If you dry your phone in this way overnight it should be fine by the morning.
* Use a hairdryer set on warm; it won’t melt your head so your phone should be safe.
* Use a food dehydrator.
* Use the oven on the warm setting (make sure to take out the battery)

Warnings

* Don’t heat the battery or it could leak acid. If you use an oven or hairdryer, make sure to remove the battery first.
* If you use alcohol make sure to do so outside, and do not apply heat in any form, not even the gentle heat of a monitor. Do not hook up the bettery till the alcohol smell dissipates.
* Do not apply heat to your phone other than mentioned above. You don’t want to melt or burn your phone.
* Warranty fraud is naughty! If you dropped your phone in the can with your other ‘droppings’–are you really going to send it in for a warranty tech to have to open? Yuck!
* FYI, Most modern phones have more than one liquid damage indicator on them, only one visible to you (and sales/technician agents), and chances are, if the sticker under the battery is triggered (or would be, with the scotch tape trick), then the odds are that the internal stickers you can’t access are tripped as well. This will still result in you paying a voided-warranty fee in the long run, and it may be best to just learn from your mistake (and not make it more financially severe!).
* Even if all these steps are followed, minerals dissolved in the water can precipitate on solder and component pins, causing corrosion or shorting. Components pins are packed so closely together in a modern cell phone that even a small encrustation can create a short, rendering the phone inoperable.

How Many Links Do I Need to Get High Rankings?

Before I go hog wild, I should probably define link popularity. The term simply refers to the number of sites that have links pointing to your precious site. At least, this is the simplest definition. Yes, it gets more complicated.

When considering link counts, one has to realize it is a subjective game. Some sites will get high rankings with only a smaller number of links while others require far more. You should use this information as a guide, not a line drawn in the sand. Okay, so what are the numbers? Typically, I shoot for 100 links reported on Google. Google only reports a small percentage of the links it finds to your site, but 100 is generally a good number to shoot for. I have sites with as low as 40 links that have top rankings and others with as many as 300 that are not as high as I like. It just depends, but 100 is a solid goal. I believe Google may have even stated as much, but it may have been a dream.

While links counts are nice, solid things to focus on, they can be misleading. Links are not created equally. Reciprocal links have low value in my opinion, to wit, 100 reciprocal links probably are not going to get you high rankings. Inbound links from articles are better, but not as great as they used to be since blogs tend to publish articles now. Still, 100 links reported by Google that are generated through articles seems to come close to doing the trick. There is, however, an even better type of inbound link.

You can get by with far fewer links if you get high quality sites to link to you. The sites needed to be highly relevant to the subject matter of your site. They also need to have high page rank counts. Finally, the older they are, the better. How do you find them? Well, who are the biggest, baddest sites in the rankings for your industry? Which sites do you see ranked in the top 10 again and again when you check your rankings? Those are the sites you want to get links from. Buy, beg, borrow and steal them if you can…err, don’t steal them, but you get my point.

When setting a goal for link popularity for search engine optimization, the number of links you need isn’t really the issue. Instead, it is the quality of links.

Too good to be true?

Generally, the offer of free satellite TV is found on the internet or from various people that claim to have pirated satellite signals or have found different ways to come into possession of illegal cable. There is a certain stigma to the notion of getting something for free and many people find these types of offers to be too good to be true. Traditionally, I am one of those people so the idea that I could get satellite TV for free sounds a little funny to me. Still, an investigation was warranted.

From my knowledge and research, there isn’t really a way to get satellite TV for free by any easy measure. As with most things in life, “free” is often too good to be true.
