What is “Pay-Per Click”? “Pay-Per Click”, is an easy to understand advertising strategy. There are around 300 million searches at major search engines everyday. This causes 80% of internet traffic. Placing your websites on these search engines is very important in reaching as many potential customers as possible. But in order to be seen and clicked most frequently, your website should be viewed at the top most of the search list. Most people only reach up to the third page of a search engine so the lower your rank, the lesser the chance you will be clicked. In “Pay-Per Click” advertising, you pay to be always visible on the internet. You select keywords or key phrases about your website, and the highest bidder ranks the best. There is no upfront cost. You only pay after a visitor clicks your link. This is why it is called “Pay-Per Click”. (more…)

Just a few months ago I received a mail from one of my subscribers describing launching of his new site. He was really very excited and thought that this site really bring him a handful of money. When I visited his site I was also surprised by the creative designing, easy and quick navigation, graphics, etc. but what I came to know by his second email after some time that he is not earning a single penny.

In fact he has not earned that much amount that he spend on developing the site. He was really very upset and sounds dull. Much similar to other computer viruses, both spyware and adware are programs designed to invade a computer and often hinder the owner’s activity. The term spyware is often thought to exclusively define a program that monitors a computer user when, in fact, it’s actions are much broader. Spyware is defined as a software that not only monitors a user, but does so for the benefit of a third party. These types of programs can track a user’s internet activity for the purpose of determining which websites they visit before sending the results to an advertisement agency. The more concerning spyware programs will attempt to record what the computer user types, such as passwords, account numbers and other private information, and may attempt to record the information. The main difference between spyware and a regular computer virus is that it does not duplicate itself as a worm or traditional virus may do. (more…)

Satellite television is one of the latest and greatest technologies to hit our homes! It is delivered by satellites (of course) high in the sky and provides a signal quality (HiFi). A study conducted by The Economist magazine, showed a strong correlation between the price of a Big Mac in a country and its cost of living. The cost of livingrent, consumer goods, food, entertainment( www.ticketnest.com ) is usually significantly higher in the US than in the developing world(and so is the price of a Big Mac). However, Big Mac index notwithstanding, the price of internet bandwidth in the third world is off the charts. As a point of comparison, a 1 Mbit/sec ADSL costs about 20 dollar for a home user in the US, and about 800 dollars in Pakistan. Needless to say, there is a strong need for a reduction in cost and improvement of quality of service. (more…)
